Now a lot of you (my followers) are also military spouses. So I'm sure that I am not the only one who has seen their fair share of drama.
What kills me is the girls who are like "I HATE drama." No, you don't. If you did, you wouldn't have friends or talk to people. Because let's face it, there is always a little "drama" going on. We are women, we love it, it spices things up.
And in small doses IT'S NOT A BAD THING.
In my nerdness I kind of think it's biological to be drawn to it, because it causes bonding, and that is important in friendships.
Now I'm not saying we like the major crazy drama of say a girl who claims to be pregnant all the time and then has like 4,010 supposed miscarriages and it's all clearly a lie, and she has a different guy (always military) every month. And this girl can't keep her relationship problems off of facebook. (True story, I know a girl who does that).
But I do think we all appreciate the drama of say a friend of a friend who is cheating on her husband, and we like to be told all the details. Because hey we all love gossip and the drama that comes with it. And we all want to know all the details when a friendship goes sour, or we share the details when one of our friendships ends. It's how women bond. Perhaps I should call it gossip, but lately all anyone calls it is "drama", when it's not.
Let the denials begin....

That one story is crazy business! I haven't run into any weirdos...yet. ;)
ReplyDeleteI think of it more as a love/hate relationship. Its fun when its someone else, but when its you and YOUR life and its LIES that the wives are making up.. it blows. But in the end me and all my friends still gossip and still enjoy the drama from time to time, especially when it involves a certain ex roommates husband buying a hooker before deployment ... oh boy that IS fun, especially after they kicked us out :)
ReplyDeleteI love me some drama. It's the whole reason that I let my husband watch the Hills while I stomp up and down in denial that I hate that show. However, I do not like it when the drama decides to make it's way into my own home. Gossip is something that I have to be careful with, I am so afraid it's going to come bite me in the ass with it's BFF drama.

ReplyDeleteHi! New reader too!
ReplyDeleteI know someone who fits this description: "major crazy drama of say a girl who claims to be pregnant all the time and then has like 4,010 supposed miscarriages and it's all clearly a lie" - hilarious.
And as much as I hate to admit it, I love the drama - from a far. Love hearing the gory details, as long as it doesn't involve me or mine.
